A little more creativity please! 🌈

Hi Reader!
Welcome back! We hope you had an amazing summer/winter (depending where you are) :)
For us, August was all about - Unlocking Creativity- creativity as a way to approach life and our relationships. We discovered that creativity can be found in many aspects of our daily life, and can help us in facing challenges and uncertainty.
How creative are you in your daily life?
Probably more than you realise!
Keep reading and you'll understand why. 🌝
Creativity doesn't only live in what we create.
Creativity lives in how we interpret, imagine, respond, and connect.
We create all the time.
Creativity isn’t limited to painting, writing, or making something new. We improvise when plans change, find ways to comfort someone, make a situational joke, solve unexpected problems, imagine possible futures and weigh up decisions. And overall: We interpret reality. Whenever we create meaning from our experiences, we are being creative.
Interpretation is an act of creativity.
Someone is late and we imagine what the reason could be. Our minds fill in the gaps when we don’t know. The creative act stays alive as long as we don’t settle on one explanation. Instead of saying: "They are late because they let us down", we can ask:
“What else could be true?”. This keeps the door open to other possibilities, and perspectives.
This way, creativity changes how we meet uncertainty. We don’t need to know all the answers - we trust that another possibility will emerge. Maybe creativity is also this: the willingness to give things enough space to emerge before deciding what they mean.
Creativity opens us to the unknown.
The difficulty begins when we forget that the story we created is an interpretation, not reality itself. And once the story feels convincing enough, we may begin responding to our own creation as though it were a fact. And by that we are making it become true. Remembering that we are the authors of our interpretations gives us something important back: choice.
Creativity is contagious!
In our Mastermind we found that what kills creativity are rigid structures, our own expectations, pressure and especially, judgement of those around. However, if others around us are creative, we feel more motivated to express ourselves creatively as well.
Is creativity celebrated or stifled in your surroundings?
Flirting is creative.
Have you ever thought of flirting as a creative act?
Not necessarily romantically, but as a quality of interaction in many kinds of relationships. Flirting can be creative because it invites us to play with words, energy, and possibility - improvising in the moment.
Creativity helps us step out of autopilot and meet emotions, relationships, challenges, and uncertainty with more openness, curiosity, playfulness, and flexibility.
Expressing without words.
Muted emotions can be expensive. Our minds keep working in the background and drain our energies. Creativity gives us a way to express what we may not be able to explain.
Through colour, movement, sound, writing, or simply making something with our hands, we can give an inner experience a form. We don't have to understand it, nor to create something beautiful. What we need is openness and curiosity about what emerges.
The intention is to let your emotions speak.
In our Challenge as the opening of the month, we focused on simply letting it flow and see what wants to emerge. If there is no standard to meet, it is easier to start.
Once something has a shape, we can relate to it differently: look at it, respond to it, or simply acknowledge that it is there. We don’t need to turn every emotion into an insight or try to make it disappear. Sometimes creativity is simply a way of saying:
Something is here.
I may not understand it yet,
but I’m willing to listen.
Creativity is a way of listening.
The Biggest Takeaway.
We often ask ourselves whether we are creative, as if creativity were a talent belonging to certain people. But, throughout this month, we discovered it somewhere much more ordinary: in how we approach life.
Creativity is not something you have or don’t have.
As children, creativity is one of the ways we explore and learn about the world. We play, experiment, imagine, try things out — without always needing to know where they will lead. Maybe part of unlocking our creativity as adults is reconnecting with that same curiosity and playfulness: being willing to explore without already knowing the answer.
Fun summer evening inside our van (after cooking 😁).
It's good to be reminded.
Several times this month, I felt overwhelmed by a roller coaster of emotions and did not know what to do with them. In our societies we often mute these moments with drugs, sex, food, or intensive sports. Following the Monthly Theme, I decided to give them space to talk to me through non-stop writing, drawing, sketching, and dancing.
Simply start and see what emerges.
It was like a valve. Sometimes, I learned more about myself after looking at my creation. Sometimes, I simply felt released. I highly recommend creating with the simple goal of giving your emotions space to talk.

We’d love to explore it with you.
How many emotions can you identify?
Probably a lot, but...
How many can you name?
"How are you?" is one of the most frequently asked questions, yet most people don't know how to answer it.
Welcome to the next Monthly Theme at InnerBalance (September 2026):
Expanding Our Emotional Vocabulary.
Together, we’ll explore how expanding our emotional vocabulary can help us better understand and navigate our emotions and what that can mean for the way we relate to others.

Hi Reader! When was the last time you felt jealous? For us it was not so long ago. ☝️ July has been a month to understand one of the most challenging emotional experiences: jealousy. However, it can also open the door to a deeper connection when we listen carefully. This is what we call healthy jealousy. Although everyone's stories in InnerBalance were different, the emotional experience was alike. It normally makes us feel unsafe, unseen, disconnected, overwhelmed, confused, and emotionally...
Hi Reader! Have you ever been in a room full of people and still felt alone? And other times you felt completely fulfilled? It turns out there is a reason for that.
